      Have to be careful with that one ... If my memory serves me correctly, its other forms are esta, estos, and estas. - depending upon gender of the item and the number. :)

                Mientra estoy trabajando, sera mejor si no estoy mirando Tribe.

                While I am working, it is best that I don't look at Tribe. Mas o menos. Hace tanto tiempo que no he tomado un curso de Spanish Grammar....y se nota!

      I think that the WOTD is a big dead right now ... So, I will choose one, if I may be so bold. In honor of the upcoming holidays ....

      turkey = "pavo" or "guajolote" (Mex).

      Ayer comi una torta de pavo.
      Yesterday I ate a turkey sandwich.

        OLOR = Smell

        "Era inevitable: el olor de las almendras amargas le recordaba siempre el destino de los amores contrariados." - Gabriel Garcia Marquez from Love in the Time of Cholera.

        "It was inevitable: the scent of the bitter almonds always reminded him of the destiny of opposed lovers." (loose translation)

    I suggest we all try to submit at least one WOTD per week...

    here are some words i learned or re-learned this week, plus some more:

    tarea = task

    salvaje = feral, wild

    cerca = fence

    trabajadores = workers

    quizas - perhaps, maybe

    orale pues - ok then
    que tal ~ que onda
    sudar = to sweat
    cava - dig
    javabes - syrups

    "Tacos de ojo” is also slang in Mexico for “eye candy,” as in “that Salma Hayek is un taco de ojo.”

    bola is actually anything round like a ball

    orale pues - Mexican term that roughly equates to "alrighty then". It is used in conversation, especially telephone to indicate that one wishes to end the conversation.

    huey - Spanish slang for dude that may be used as an insult or just a greeting
